New keypad for a DMS2 thickness gauge
Rigid replacement keypad for the Krautkramer DMS 2TC ultrasonic gauge, reverse-engineered to put the instrument back in service.
The original membrane keypad was damaged and the backup batteries were dead, so the gauge lost its settings. We designed a 0.6 mm board with micro switches, compatible with the original connector, and the mechanics to fit it.
The design became a replacement part we now offer for other DMS2 units.
What we did
- 22-key board with red and green LEDs, in two versions
- Keypad bed, 3D-printed bezel and printed overlay
- Backup battery replacement and test of every key
